We've made it to early May, eating Texas Reds from Rio Star, but the last 8 pound sack from Sam's wasn't really very good at all. In fact, it was awful, so we're quitting!
Considering that the crop is done by February 1, it's remarkable that cold storage techniques have kept the fruit so well, so long, all the way up here in Michigan. About double the time a fresh picked fruit can be kept in your refrigerator.
So, so long old friends, 'til next season! Adios, and all that stuff.
