Basil Downy Mildew

Basil Downy Mildew is in the news, here. It turns leaves yellow and then brown and pretty much does you in right quick like. The fungus is transported by airborne spores, so there isn't much that can be done to stop it.

Some say one answer is to space plants farther apart and locate them in sunnier, less humid spots. I thought everyone knew to plant basil in full sun, with the romas. We do and so far this season we have a bumper crop of basil coming in, and we're making pesto like crazy.

Another answer is darker leaf varieties, which seem to be more resistant.
